MCM and Howard help kickoff three day Hoop City Classic
The three day Hoop City Classic begins today, at the Corn Palace in Mitchell. The annual event is put on by the Hoop City Basketball Club, which was founded in 2005. The Classic features teams from South Dakota, as well as some of the top high school teams from around the country.Â
Today’s slate of games include McCook Central/Montrose vs. Ethan at 9am, and Howard vs. Hamlin at noon. Houston High School, from Houston Tennessee, will play Thunder Basin Wyoming at 3pm. The final game of the day will have Aberdeen Christian vs. Lower Brule at 9pm.Â
Thursday, the classic shifts to the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls. Lennox will take on Waconia Minnesota at 10:30 Friday. Totino Grace, from Fridley Minnesota, will take no Dream City Academy from Glendale Arizona at 3pm.Â
The Hoop City Classic concludes back in Mitchell on Friday.Â
