Madison & McCook/Miner Square Off For Second Time In Legion Ball

In a tight affair at Baughman/Belotti Park on Monday night, it was Madison picking up a 6-5 victory over McCook/Miner in Legion baseball. Both teams scored a run in the first inning before McCook/Miner erupted for four runs in the top of the fifth, courtesy of a grand slam from Riley Genzlinger. Madison would answer in the home half of the fifth inning, tying the contest at fives before getting an RBI single from Braden Eimers, to take the lead for the first time. That lead would hold, as Madison defeated McCook/Miner for the second time in as many contests.

Genzlinger and Tyce Ortman both collected two hits, while Keaton Nighbert and Taylor Hojer each had a pair for Madison. McCook/Miner will be back in action on Thursday at Colton, Madison will host Lake Norden tonight.
