Facing off in a SoDak 16 qualifier, the Howard Girls Basketball team upped the defense in the second half to defeat the Colman-Egan Hawks 49-36 in Huron on Thursday night. The Tigers got out to a 21-9 lead in the first half before C-E climbed back to within three at half-time. 

The Hawks got a three-pointer from Braiden Westley to tie the game at 26 all early in the third quarter, but Howard would score the next 11 points in the quarter and went onto the victory. Abby Connor finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, Hillary Albrecht had 11 and Kenedy Koepsell had 12 for Howard. Colman-Egan was led by Westley who had 16 points.
