The Howard Tiger Basketball squads came away with a sweep on the road last night at ORR. Playing at the cozy gym in Ramona, the Lady Tigers used a strong defensive effort throughtout the contest to come away with a 56-20 win. 

They limited the Lady Raiders to single digits in all four quarters and eventually a running clock was in place during the fourth quarter. Hilary Albrecht, who recently became Howard’s all time scorer for the girls, had 12 points to lead the way offensively. It was the eleventh victory for the Howard Girls on the season.

 

Meanwhile, it was a tight first quarter battle in the boys game, as ORR held a slight 13-12 lead after one. Unfortunately for the Raiders, they only scored 14 points the rest of the game as Howard slowly pulled away. An eleven point lead at half time was followed by a 19 point spread after three and a finaly of 54-27. Sam Aslesen poured in 19 points over the first three quarters, Jake Brooks had 12 and Tisyn Sapder had ten for Howard. Wil Matson was the lone Raider in double-digits, finishing with 14. 

Howard basketball is back in action tonight, hosting Irene-Wakonda in a doubleheader. ORR back in action on Thursday, hosting De Smet in a doubleheader.Â
