On the road, the Howard Tigers swept the Flyers of Chester Area last night in a boys/girls doubleheader. In the Girls game, Howard jumped out to a 10-0 lead and led 15-10 after one. Chester went silent in the second quarter, not scoring a point and the Tigers led 29-10 at the end of the half. Both teams scored 16 points in the third quarter and Howard led by as much as 23 in the second half, which was also the final margin of victory 55-32.

Kenedy Koepsell hit 5 three’s and finished with 17 points and Hilary Albrecht had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead Howard. Chester was led by Mckenna Larson who had 13 points. Howard picked up the win in their first game of the season while Chester Area dropped to 0-2.

On the Boys side, Howard jumped out to an early advantage and never trailed in the game, winning 58-30. It was 18-6 after one and 35-12 at the break. The height and size of the Tigers were too much for the Flyers to overcome. The lead did hit the 30 point mark in the fourth quarter and a running clock was in action for the final few minutes of the game.

Jake Brooks had 15 points and Tyson Spader had 11 for a balanced attack for Howard. Flyers did not have a scorer in double digits, Brock Wages finished with 9. Howard improved to 2-0 while Chester Area dropped to 0-2

Chester will be back in action on the road versus Tri-Valley Friday in a doubleheader while Howard is also on the road, taking on McCook Central/Montrose. We will have Howard versus MCM on FM103 Friday Night.
