Howard Hands Chester Their Fifth Straight Loss

The Chester Area Flyers hosted the Howard Tigers last night and lost by a score of 66-40.

The Tigers came in winning four of their last five games while the Flyers were on a four game losing streak, but that did not stop Chester from keeping it tight with Howard early on.

The first half of the game was very competitive and back and forth, with Chester having the two point advantage after one leading 20-18. Howard answered back before halftime, getting a two point lead of their own after the second quarter, leading 30-28 heading into the half.

Coming out of the break was when the Tigers began to separate themselves from the Flyers, outscoring the Flyers 15-6 in the third quarter. The Tigers then closed out the game with a huge fourth quarter, once again only allowing six points in the quarter while putting up 21 of their own to win 66-40.

Howard improved to 7-3 with the win while Chester fell to 3-9, dropping their fifth straight game.

Both teams will play again tonight, with Chester Area hosting Sioux Falls Lutheran at 4pm, while Howard will stay on the road and play at Ethan following the girls game this evening.Â
