Giles Propels Broncos To Win – Cornbelt Sunday Recap

Jacob Giles did a little bit of everything for the Madison Broncos on Sunday evening in Colman. Giles pitched a complete game, including striking out the side in the bottom of the ninth and also added in a Grand Slam as Madison defeated Colman 8-6. Madison would grab the lead for good, scoring two runs on an error in the top of the second. Giles’ prodigious poke came in the third to give the Broncos a 7-2 lead. JT Mix went deep twice for Colman, a solo shot in the third and a two-run tater in the fifth.

Elsewhere in the Cornbelt, Lennox defeated Canova 3-2. Drew Sweeter delivered the go-ahead RBI in the eighth inning and Kramer Sneed pitched a gem. Sneed struck out 19 batters while allowing four hits and walked three. Tyler Earls pitched a complete game shutout to help Salem defeat the Hartford/Humboldt Wood Ducks 4-0. Earls scattered five hits, walked three and struck out seven. Dell Rapids Mudcats picked up their second victory of the summer of the Gamecocks of Hartford/Humboldt 5-3 in Humboldt.
