Flandreau, Dell Rapids, H-H Gamecocks, and Lennox Win in Cornbelt League Baseball Sunday

The Flandreau Cardinals have been slugging their way through the Cornbelt early in the year. That trend continued on Sunday as the Cardinals beat the Colman A’s 11-2. 

Flandreau broke the game open with 6 runs in the 2nd inning. Grant Hieb finished the game with three hits, including a double and a home run. Hieb drove in 4 of the Cardinals 9 runs. Luke Gassman, Jacob Patterson, and Bret Severtson combined to strike out 13 batters, while scattering 6 hits. 

Also in the Cornbelt on Sunday, the Dell Rapids Mudcats stayed undefeated in league play, with a 12-2 win over the Humboldt-Hartford Wood Ducks. 

The Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks got a home run from Joe Hanisch, and defeated the Canova Gang 6-5. Kendall Gassman and Garrett Gassman each had homers in the loss for Canova. 

Lennox scored two runs in the bottom of the 9th inning, then drew a bases loaded walk in the 10th to beat Dell Rapids PBR 10-9.Â
