DeSmet Ups Defense In Win Over Colman-Egan

Making a run throught the Region 4B Playoffs and into the SoDak 16, the Hawks of Colman-Egan ran into the buzzsaw of DeSmet on Tuesday night at the Corn Palace, falling 63-42. The Bulldogs defense was the difference in the contest, holding C-E to 16 first half points to lead 29-16 at the break. The #1 DeSmet would continue to play strong, stretch their lead to around 20 points multiple times in the second half.

Kalen Garry  had 25 points to lead DeSmet, while Dalton Voelker posted a double-double for Colman-Egan (12 points and 15 rebounds). Colman-Egan saw their season come to a close at 11-12 and DeSmet improved to 21-2, advancing to the Class B Tournament next week in Aberdeen.
