Chester Competes in State B Track & Field Meet in Rapid City
Chester Flyer track and field teams competed at the State B Track & Field Meet in Rapid City over the weekend. The boys team finished in third with 43 points. The boys 4 x 100-meter relay school record was broken again with the team of Alex Van Egdom, Ryan Benson, Stratton Eppard, and Jovi Wolf at 43.99 seconds, finishing in second place. This was the third time the record was broken this year. Wolf finished third in the 200-meter dash and fifth in the 100-meter dash, with Van Egdom finishing two spots behind him in seventh. Benson earned second place in four different events. Emmerson Eppard participated in a girls team-high four events: the 1600-meter run, the 3200-meter run, the 3200-meter relay, and the medley relay. Nine girls participated in the meet, with several hitting personal bests.
