Canova Earned Two Wins in Great Start to SD VFW 16U Tournament

Canova grabbed two wins to start regional play in the SD VFW Tournament.

Canova had a nine-run victory over Emery in the opening round of the Class B Region 5 Tournament. Luke Koepsell added three hits, with two runs driven in and scored twice. Four pitchers combined to finish the game for Canova.

After the 4-4 tie, two runs scored in the top of the sixth and Canova escaped with a 6-4 win in game two. Only the first three hitters of the lineup had the four hits for Canova, with Jackson Remmers getting two. Kade Shumaker got the win after he pitched three innings without allowing a hit and striking out two.
