In a semi-final showdown in 9A, the Pride of Cansitota/Freeman had the last laugh, defeating the previously undefeated Howard Tigers 12-7 on Friday night in Howard. The two sides had played to triple overtime earlier this year, with Howard coming out on top. The Tigers did score the first touchdown of the game, a 5-yard touchdown run by Riley Genzlinger just past the halfway point of the first. Canistota/Freeman would answer with a touchdown in the second quarter and then took the lead late in the third quarter.

Both teams had less than 200 yards offensive, there were no turnovers and the Pride had one more first down than the Tigers. Howard finishes their season at 9-1, while Canistota/Freeman advances to face Warner in the 9A State Title game next Thursday night.
