Both Colman-Egan Teams Win in Double-Header

In their double-header last night, both boys and girls teams for Colman-Egan were able to secure home victories. 

The evening started off with the boys team for Colman-Egan getting out to the early lead against Arlington, leading 23-11 after the first quarter and going into the half up 34-23. The Hawks continued to build on their lead in the second half, defeating the Cardinals 70-44.

Four players for Colman-Egan eclipsed double-digit points scoring, with Jase Mousel leading the way with 14 points. He also grabbed three rebounds. Jackson Zwart and Sawyer Uhing each had 13 points for the Hawks, and Logan Voelker added ten points.

Zwart led the team in rebounds, grabbing seven.

The girls had similar success for the Hawks against Oldham-Ramona/Rutland, getting out to the early lead and never letting go of it, leading by five points at the end of the first quarter before taking a 22-15 lead into the half. 

ORR tried to mount a comeback coming out of the break, cutting into the Hawks lead at 28-24 heading into the final quarter, however Colman-Egan was able to hold the lead in the fourth to get the 40-32 home win over ORR.

Bynnlee Landis led the Lady Hawks with 17 points. Lanie Mousel added 11 points, while also grabbing a game leading 10 rebounds. 

The Colman-Egan boys evened up their record to 2-2, and will be back in action tonight when they host ORR at 6pm. Meanwhile, the girls got their first victory of the season, and will be looking to build off of last night’s success next Tuesday, January 10th when they host Chester Area at 7pm.
