This past weekend was the first weekend of high school boys basketball in our area, with many teams in our area getting big wins to start the year.
To start the weekend off on Friday, December 9th, Dell Rapids got a 57-44 win over West Central and Beresford won 55-44 against Baltic. Sioux Falls Christian and Dakota Valley both won on Friday night by more than 20 points, with SFC getting a 93-68 against Lennox and Dakota Valley winning 67-43 at Tea Area.
Oldham-Ramona/Rutland lost Friday night to Iroquois/Lake Preston 61-53, while Colman-Egan’s game against Arlington was postponed.
Action continued on Saturday, December 10th, with Lennox getting a dominating 68-32 over Milbank and McCook Central/Montrose winning 52-42 at home against Parker. Elk Point-Jefferson also won at home 70-63 over Madison.
Sioux Falls Christian won overwhelmingly again on Saturday as well, with a 61-33 win at West Central.
Chester Area won in a nailbiter on the road at Garretson, getting a 38-36 road victory over the Blue Dragons.
West Central, ORR, Beresford, Dakota Valley, MCM, and Chester Area all will return to action tonight. Chester Area’s home game tonight against Howard can be heard tonight on FM 103.1 or online at AmazingMadison.com.
