Tri-Valley’s young teams open 2018-19 season against Garretson on Friday

The youth of the Tri-Valley Mustangs boys and girls basketball teams have been at the forefront of their practices to begin the 2018-19 seasons. A combined 3 seniors gives the opportunity for the rest of the rosters to make their mark.

The Tri-Valley girls team enters with returning senior forwards Grace Steineke, Skylar Skovlund, and a heavy junior class. With only 12 girls out for the varsity team this season, coach Dan Jewett is looking at all players to contribute.

For the Mustang boys team, they’ll begin the year with a new starting five. Coach Rob Grady says the play of last year’s returners will have to pace the offense to start the year.

Tri-Valley opens the 2018-19 season on the road against the Garretson Blue Dragons on Friday. KJAM will cover the doubleheader on Jammin’ Country FM 103.1 and Amazingmadison.com starting with a girls game at 6:30pm with the boys game to follow.
