Ray Gile

Ray W. Gile, 86, of Madison passed away on December 5, 2018 at Grand Living at Lake Lorraine in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will begin at 2 pm on Saturday, December 8 at Madison United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 5 pm on Friday with a prayer service to be held at 7 pm at Kinzley Funeral Home, Madison.
Ray Gile was born on March 20, 1932 to Daniel and Ula Mae (Morgan) Gile in Madison, SD. He graduated from high school in Madison and went on to join the Air Force from 1951-1955. He married Gloria Finck on December 18, 1970 at the Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, SD. Ray had a history of working in food service, specifically at Grandview and Village Café in Madison. He and Gloria moved to California to begin a career in canteen service with the VA, which later took them to Washington state and eventually to Hot Springs, SD. They then retired back to Madison in 1993 to be closer to family.
Ray was a lifelong member of the Madison United Methodist Church. He loved his work and spending time with friends and family.
Ray is survived by: his children, Kevin Finck of Watertown, SD, Scott (Pam) Finck of Madison, SD, Terry (Christie) Finck of Madison, SD and Ula (Jackson) Shymanski of Fergus Falls, MN; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae Buthe; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
