Students at Madison Elementary, Madison Christian, and St. Thomas Schools cast ballots last week as part of Kids Voting, ahead of Tuesday’s general election. The kids voted in the U.S. House, Governor, and District 8 State Senator and House races.
Madison’s Kids Voting results ended fairly similar to the local election results. The kids had Republican Dusty Johnson as the top vote-getter in the U.S. House race with 259 votes, followed by Democrat Tim Bjorkman with 96. Kristi Noem received the most votes in Madison’s Kids Voting for the governor’s election, with just six more votes than Billie Sutton.
Madison students also selected Jordan Youngberg as State Senator for District 8 in Kids Voting, and Marli Wiese and Jason Unger as State Representatives for District 8.
