The announcement this week by President Donald Trump that he will ask the Environmental Protection Agency to allow for year-round use of ethanol-enriched E-15 fuel has support from South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard. Daugaard says E-15 should be available to more motorists by next summer.
Daugaard says less pain at the pump is just one of the many possible benefits of expanding E-15 sales.
The only concern Daugaard has is the possibility of the American Petroleum Institute fighting the ruling.
Daugaard says the ruling will have some minor impact on state vehicle fleets as most state fueling hubs use E-30 and some fleet vehicles are older and unable to use fuel blends greater than E-10.
