Flandreau girls capture Region 2A title, Flier boys take third and off to State

Flandreau’s cross country teams both qualified for the State meet by finishing in the ‘Top 3’ at the Region 2A meet on Thursday. The Fliers girls team won the team title with Madeline and Elizabeth Hursey and Hannah Parsley placing third through fifth. Flandreau’s boys took 3rd behind Austin Kulm, Gabriel Hobbie, and David Allen finishing in the ‘Top 20’.

Madison’s Karsyn Dorris will be the lone Bulldog representative with the girls team taking 6th while the boys finished 7th. Other area finishers heading to State include McCook Central/Montrose’s Blake Pulse and Jordan Schock, Dell Rapids’ Brayden Pulscher and Adison Stadem, and Tri-Valley’s Brie Peters. West Central’s Braden Peters and Baltic’s Anastasia Wilkinson captured the individual Region titles.

The Class A State Cross Country meet is being held in Sioux Falls at the Yankton Trail Park on October 20th. The boys race will start at 12:30pm with the girls race at 2pm.
