Bulldogs take homecoming match from Vermillion

Madison volleyball made quick work of Vermillion on Tuesday night, winning in three sets at the Madison High School Gym. The homecoming victory wrapped up a stretch of five straight matches at home for the Bulldogs, who improved to 4-3 on the season.

 

Madison and Vermillion traded leads in the first set, with Madison pulling away late for a 25-20 win. The Bulldogs wasted no time in the 2nd set. Led by the outside hitting of Sophia VandenBosch and Kendra Leighton, Madison pulled away from a 13-13 tie to win the set 25-15. The Bulldogs also built up a big lead in the 3rd set, before winning 25-20.

 

VandenBosch led Madison with 14 kills and 3 aces and 12 digs. Leighton added 9 kills, while Grace Nelson had 16 set assists.

 

Madison will travel to Hayti this Saturday to take part in the Hamlin tournament.
