ORR/Arlington falls to top-seed in South Divisional Playoffs on Sunday

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland/Arlington baseball fought to keep their season alive but fell in the South Divisional playoffs on Sunday. The #4 seed Raiders defeated #5 Wolsey-Wessington/Miller/Highmore 6-5 to open the day, and then fell to top-seeded Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Sanborn Central 3-1.

The Raiders held onto an early against Miller in the 6-5 victory, despite 5 errors in the field. Casey Renaas and Jeremiah Hoekman each collected two hits for the Raiders. Renaas also drove in two runs and Will Matson pitched 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs.

All runs were scored in the 5th inning with Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Sanborn Central winning 3-1. ORR’s Jamus Brown drove in their lone run followed by Woonsocket’s 3 runs in the bottom half of the inning. Taylor Hojer had two hits in the Raiders season ending loss.

ORR/Arlington finishes the season at 3-7.
