Lake County’s newly appointed State’s Attorney has filed petitions for election to her position. Wendy Kloeppner, who started in February in the appointed position, filed her petitions for the June primary election with the Lake County Auditor’s Office on Monday. Kloeppner is a Republican, and she is seeking the two-year State’s Attorney’s position up for election in Lake County this year.
Others who have filed petitions for the primary election in Lake County include commissioners Aaron Johnson, a democrat, and Kelli Wollmann, a republican, who have both filed petitions for re-election to their seats on the commission. County commissioners serve four year terms and there are two seats up for election this year. Lake County Sheriff Tim Walburg, a republican, is seeking another four-year term in his position, and Auditor Bobbi Janke, a democrat, has filed petitions for re-election as well. The county auditor’s position and Register of Deeds’ positions are both four-year terms. Current Register of Deeds Shirley Ebsen, a republican, has filed her nominating petitions as well.
Also seeking a two-year term as Lake County’s coroner is Mark Rustand, a republican.
The deadline to file petitions for party candidates to be on the primary election ballot is March 27th. The Independent petition filing deadline is April 24th.
