MMS Principal Koch to receive state award

The Madison Central School Board Monday recognized an award that one of the district’s administrators will be receiving.  Superintendent Joel Jorgenson announced during the board’s meeting on Monday that Madison Middle School Principal Cotton Koch has been named the Middle School Principal of the Year by the South Dakota Association of Secondary School Principals.  Jorgenson said that Koch was nominated for the award by his peers in the region. He said Koch will receive his formal award during an awards banquet at the state principals’ conference in Deadwood in April.

Also during the board’s meeting on Monday, the school district’s calendar for the 2018-2019 school year was approved.  Jorgenson said the calendar will be similar to the current school year.  The first day for students in the fall of 2018 is August 23rd.
