The Madison Bulldogs celebrated the programs third straight State Football Championship Saturday night, at a welcome home event in the Madison High School gym. Players, coaches, parents, and fans gathered just hours after the team’s 42-20 win over Dakota Valley.
The Panthers opened that game with a 7-0 lead, but the Bulldogs quickly recovered and scored the game’s next 42 points. At the Welcome Home, head coach Max Hodgen said he was proud of the way the team fought back.
Bulldogs assistant coach Mike Ricke spoke about the teams dominance over the last half decade.
Hodgen said the Bulldogs program has come a long way from its humble beginnings.
Saturday’s game was the final contest for 10 Bulldog seniors: Jadon & Jaxon Janke, Josh Giles, Matt Williams, Brady Nelson, Quentin McKinney, Brad Hoff, Nick Andresen, Josh Bernard, and Oakley Denne.
