Flyers Volleyball thrives with tough and challenging schedule and opponents

Chester Area Volleyball has been playing against strong teams all season long and has answered the call with their 18-4 overall record. The #4 ranked Flyers only losses this season have come from other ranked opponents including Warner, Madison, Parker and Hanson. This has only fueled Chester with their aspirations set for another Class B State title run this season.

In their most recent match, Chester faced a scrappy West Central team that was not an easy win for the Flyers even after winning the first set 25-23. The Trojans then took the second set 25-22. Chester would then close out the match with twin scores of 25-23 which proved to be challenging at every point of the match. Coach Jean Benson says West Central showed once again that her players can step up at crucial times.

After graduating 5 seniors that were instrumental in their Class B State tournament run last season, the Flyers have been graced with the play of their lone senior Dakota Alfson and their 4 juniors. Coach Benson says that their best performances on the court have yet to come out.

Chester will be on the road in three of their last 4 matches this season. The Flyers face Canistota tonight and will take on Sioux Valley and Colman-Egan next week. Chester closes out the regular season at home against Arlington on October 23rd.
