Madison boys golf tops Tri-Valley in 9-hole duel

Madison boys golf made a clean sweep of Tri-Valley in a 9-hole duel Tuesday at the Madison Country Club. The Bulldogs shot a 175 team score out of their Top 4 golfers and the Mustangs finished with a 228 total score. The Madison JV team also defeated Tri-Valley 204 to 250, Dylan DeJong shot the best round of a 46.

Braden Eimers carded the best round out of all varsity golfers with an 8 over 42 and Aaron Fiegen shot a 43. Joey Poppens shot a 44 for Madison and Keaton Nighbert ended up with a round of 46 to round off the Top 4 golfers. Heston Jorgenson and Riley Steffensen carded rounds of 48 as well for the Bulldogs. Tri-Valley’s Jacob Madison shot a 51 to lead his team and Josh Leiseth shot a 56.

With only a couple of meets and duels left before State, the Bulldog boys golf team head into the Dakota XII Conference varsity meet on Monday with junior varsity meet on Tuesday. The varsity meet will be held at Dakota Valley with the JV meet in Canton.
