Dakota State University in Madison is planning its homecoming festivities for next week and it will be centered around the Disney theme of “Where Dreams Come True”. Events planned for next week include coronation, community contests, several home DSU athletic events, and the Trojan Days parade, volleyball match, and football game next Saturday, September 23rd.
DSU homecoming events kick off Monday the 18th with the Travelin’ Trojan contest for the DSU and Madison-area communities. Throughout next week, the Travelin’ Trojan will be hidden in an on or off-campus location and clues will be given daily as to its whereabouts.
Madison-area business owners are invited to participate also in the window/store front decorating contest. The Trojan Pride committee will award prizes in two categories: most theme-related (Disney) and most DSU spirit. Businesses who participate are asked to submit photos of their decorated windows or store fronts by next Thursday and on Friday, the winners will be announced and they will receive their prize package.
DSU homecoming coronation will be held on Monday at 7:30 at the Dakota Prairie Playhouse in Madison, followed by a hypnotist show for DSU students.
The DSU Trojan Days parade is Saturday, September 23rd starting at 10:00 a.m. on Egan Avenue. Any business or organization interested in participating in the parade may register on the DSU website by this Friday.
