Chester Area Volleyball maintains top 5 ranking after BEC tournament win

Undefeated Chester Area continues to hold down the #3 ranking in this week’s Class B South Dakota Volleyball Poll. The Flyers improved to 6-0 last weekend while claiming the Big East Conference tournament championship. Chester opened play with straight set wins over Sioux Valley and Garretson, and then faced Parker in the title match. The Flyers dropped the first two sets to the Pheasants, by scores of 14-25 and 18-25. Chester rebounded for 25-21 and 25-17 set wins to force a decisive 5th set, which the Flyers won 15-9. Chester Area will host Elkton-Lake Benton tonight.

In Class A the Madison Bulldogs, who lost to Sioux Falls Christian last week before a win over Lennox, fell to #4 in the poll. Miller moved passed Madison to #3, while Dakota Valley and Sioux Falls Christian held on to 1st and 2nd place respectively.

The Bulldogs will travel to Vermillion tonight, before taking part in the Hamlin tournament on Saturday.
