Dakota State Volleyball adds 9 recruits for 2017-18 season

Dakota State University Trojan Volleyball is adding nine more recruits for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Five of the recruits hail from South Dakota, including Katelyn Richards of Elk Point-Jefferson and Gabrielle Herlyn of Parker.

Katelyn Richards is a right-side hitter and was Dakota XII All-Conference Honorable Mention for Elk Point-Jefferson and finished her senior year with 108 kills, 20 blocks and 32 digs. Gabrielle Herlyn was named to the Class B State All-Tournament team in 2015 for Parker and also lettered in track and field, drill team and cheerleading. Herlyn is a middle hitter and tallied 631 kills and 158 blocks in her high school career.

Other incoming recruits for the Trojan Volleyball team range from Minnesota, Nebraska, Colorado and Saskatchewan, Canada. Dakota State Trojan Volleyball opens the regular season on August 25th at the Red Raider Classic against Briar Cliff and Doane Universities in Orange City, IA. The Trojans first home match will be against Dakota Wesleyan on September 12th.
