The Lake County Commission will be holding its regular meeting on Thursday this week because of the July 4th holiday on Tuesday. The commission has several more 2018 budget requests to hear during Thursday’s meeting.
Dale Bunkers and Brett Baumann are scheduled to meet with commissioners at 9:05 Thursday regarding a special malt beverage license for the Chester Volunteer Fire Department for a street dance. After that, commissioners are slated to meet with Lake Area Improvement Corporation Executive Director Julie Gross for her office’s quarterly report and budget request at 9:10, and Prairie Village Manager Faron Wahl will present his budget request at 9:20. Vicki Kommes (KO’-mes) with Valiant Living presents her agency’s budget request at 9:30, and Equalization Director Rick Becker has his office’s budget request at 9:50.
Budget requests from Community Counseling Services, the Deputy Clerk of Courts, and the county’s Conservation District will also be heard by commissioners on Thursday morning. Also, Emergency Manager Doug Huntrods will meet with commissioners around 10:40 Thursday morning for personnel and the budget requests for the Emergency Management and Veterans Services offices. At 10:55 Thursday, Commissioners Dennis Slaughter and Roger Hageman will present a personnel item to commissioners, and at 11:00, Commissioners Kelli Wollmann and Aaron Johnson will present a personnel item as well.
Sheriff Tim Walburg is scheduled to meet with the commission at 11:10 Thursday morning to discuss personnel and the professional services agreement with Shive Hattery, and Highway Superintendent Dave Fedeler will meet with the commission at 11:25 to discuss the SD D-O-T Form 238 McLaury Engineering Incorporated.
Commissioners are also to hold budget discussions for 2018 on the Highway Superintendent’s proposed tax levy and resolution, the former Search and Rescue budget and fund budget, the Coroner’s budget, and the M&P Fund budget with Register of Deeds Shirley Ebsen. An executive session for proposed or pending litigation is scheduled for the end of Thursday’s meeting.
