South Dakota Firefighters Association holding annual Fire School

Nearly 450 South Dakota firefighters are responding to Mitchell, but without lights and sirens. The annual South Dakota State Fire School is going on through Saturday.

Charlie Kludt, president of the South Dakota Firefighters Association, says there is something for every firefighter who attends.

Kludt says one training exercise involves a vacant building in downtown Mitchell with the majority of activities at the Mitchell Technical Institute campus. A vendor show, Memorial Service, firefighting races and competitions will also be held, along with elections and scholarship presentations.
