DSU volleyball’s record moves to 13-11 with pair of weekend matches

DSU volleyball played a pair NSAA matches over the weekend. Friday the Trojans suffered their 1st home loss of the season falling to The University of Jamestown in 5 sets. DSU won the 2nd and 3rd sets before The Jimmies raced out to a 14-6 lead in the 4th and won 25-14 to force the tie breaker. Tied 14-14 Jamestown recorded the final 2 points in the 5th set to win the match. Carly Rozell and Rachel Johnson each had double doubles, Rozell had 17 kills and 19 digs while Johnson recorded 23 assists and 12 digs

The Trojans rebounded with a sweep of Dickinson State University for a home coming win Saturday. DSU won 29-27,25-15 and 25-14. Rozell led Dakota State with 14 kill and 5 service aces.  Kirstin Johnson added 12 kills. Kaylee Vander Wal produced a double double of 22 assists and 11 digs.  Chelsey Davis tallied a match-high 20 digs for the Trojans.  Allison Thielsen added 10 digs. The Trojans record stands at 13-11 and 5-2 in The North Star; Thursday they host Briar Cliff at The DSU Fieldhouse
