Madison City Commission meeting Monday

The Madison City Commission is holding its weekly meeting later today.  Commissioners will again be utilizing the GoToMeeting application to meet virtually for today’s meeting.  

On the agenda for commissioners is a public hearing on a petition by First Premier Bank to vacate an alley on Northwest 2nd between North Van Eps and Blanche Avenues.  Commissioners will then consider adopting a resolution for the alley vacation, and also consider adopting two resolutions approving two different plats.  

The commission is also scheduled to authorize the mayor to sign a placement agent agreement with Dougherty & Company LLC for a water revenue bond, and sign a construction financing proposal with First Bank & Trust for a water system improvement project.  

Commissioners will review and award the bid for the construction of underground electric primary, secondary service, and street light circuitry.  They will also discuss the 2020 summer status of the Madison Aquatics Center.

An executive session for the purpose of preparing for contract negotiations or negotiating with employees or employee representatives will be held at the end of today’s meeting.

Today’s Madison City Commission meeting begins at 5:30.

• Use the chat function within GoToMeeting; list your name and topic you wish to discuss – we will then call on you when we get to public comment time.
• Reach out to our office before 5:00pm Monday (4-20-20) at 256-7500 option 3 or email [email protected] to be added to the list to be called on during the meeting.

Normal public comment rules will be followed: no action can be taken and each person gets 3 minutes.
