Today is deadline for petitions for city and school board elections

Sue Bergheim Reporting

Today is the last day to file petitions to run for a seat on either the Madison City Commission or Madison Central School Board.

Currently, four people have filed petitions to be on the ballot for one of two seats open on the Madison City Commission. Robert Thill, Jennifer Wolff, Marshall Dennert, and Mike Waldner have all filed petitions with the Madison City Finance Office. Waldner and Nick Abraham’s seats on the commission expire this year. Commissioners serve three-year terms.

Meanwhile, the two incumbents have filed their petitions for re-election to the Madison Central School Board. Steve Nelson and Camelyn Sims, both whose terms on the board expire this year, have filed their petitions with the Madison Central Business Office. School board members also serve three-year terms.

Petitions for either the city or school board election must be turned in to their respective offices by the end of the day today. The city election is scheduled for April 14th.
