The field of candidates has grown to five for the Madison City Commission election. Current commissioner Nick Abraham filed his petition with the Madison City Finance Office today (Friday). Abraham’s term on the commission is up for election this year, along with current commissioner Mike Waldner. Abraham and Waldner have both filed petitions for re-election, along with challengers Jennifer Wolff, Robert Thill, and Marshall Dennert. Today (Friday) is the deadline to file petitions for the city commission election, which will be held on April 14th.

Today (Friday) is also the deadline for petitions to be filed for the Madison Central School Board election. So far, incumbent board members Steve Nelson and Camelyn Sims are the only two to file petitions with the Madison Central Business Office. Nelson and Sims’ seats are the two open on the board this year. If no other petitions are filed by today’s (Friday’s) deadline, there will not be a school board election this year.
