Madison volleyball wraps up regular season

This season the Madison Bulldogs Volleyball team is 20-6. With five seniors several returning players and a group of underclass men  Head coach Jill Kratovil says her squad has meshed this season.

DSU tops Waldorf 86-70 in season opener

The Dakota State University Men’s Basketball Team used a strong shooting performance to win their season opener 86-70 beating Waldorf College at The DSU Fieldhouse Wednesday night. After battling to a 14-14 tie in the first half the Trojans went on a scoring run lead by Brendon Boomsma’s 3 three pointers to gain a double digit lead.

Madison Rolls Over Milbank in Opening Round

The Madison Bulldogs scored 5 times in the first quarter of their opening round playoff game against Milbank, finally winning on a score of 55-0. Madison quarterback Mitch Hansen started the scoring with a pair of touchdown runs on Madison’s first two drives, as Madison took a 14-0 lead less than six minutes into the game. DSU Men's basketball team begins season at home

The NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Preseason Top 25 Poll was released Tuesday and for the 2nd straight year DSU received points. In the poll ,which was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents, The Trojans received 21 points placing then above College of Ozarks who had 17 points .

DSU volleyball gets 3-1 win over DWU

The Dakota State University volleyball team beat Dakota Wesleyan in 4 sets last night at The DSU Fieldhouse. After dropping the 1st set 25-23 The Trojans battled in the 2nd set, which saw 17 ties and had 5 lead changes, to get the 28-26 win.

Howard beats Viborg Hurley in first round match up

Senior running back Luke Loudenburg claimed two 9man state records as The Howard Tigers cruised to a 60-6 first round playoff victory over Viborg Hurley Tuesday night. Loudenburg scored his first touchdown 5 minutes into the game on a 26 yard carry and the Tigers got the 2 point conversion to lead The Cougars 8-0.

Madison Ready to Start Playoffs

The Madison Bulldog football team will start the 2014 playoffs just as they did a year ago, as the #1 seed in 11A. The 7-1 Bulldogs will host a 1-7 Milbank team tonight at Trojan Field, that’s also a rematch of last year’s 1st round playoff game.
The young Milbank team as struggled in on offence in their last three games, scoring just 6 points in the month of October. Now

Howard host Viborg Hurley in 9A playoffs

The Howard Tigers finished the regular season with a 79-52 win over Freeman last Thursday. Howard kept their record untarnished getting their 8th win to secure their second straight undefeated regular season.

Class A and B state cross county results

West Central took first in The Boys Class A Cross Country meet in Huron Saturday. The Trojans finished with a team score of 56, 9 points better than 2nd place Garretson. Derick Peters  finished 11th and placed the highest for West Central while teammates Ryan Titus, Braden Peters and Gabe Smith were 15th, 21st , and 27th respectively.

No.18 Jamestown beats DSU in NSAA Volleyball Match

The Trojans volleyball team fell to the nationally ranked University of Jamestown in a conference road match Saturday. The Jimmies beat DSU 25-15,25-13 and 25-14 to get the win in straight sets. The Trojans were out hit 41-23 and had 18 errors compared to Jamestown’s 6. Caitlin Pick led DSU with 7 kills and Tessa Weeldreyer and Alicia Karst had 4 apiece. Karst also added 3 service aces.

DSU beats Trinity Bible College in rout 69-13

The Dakota State University football team won big in their final home game of the season topping Trinity Bible College 69-13 Saturday afternoon. After a pregame ceremony to honor their 5 seniors The Trojans scored 25-0 straight points.The scoring started less than 10 minutes into the opening quarter when Jacob Giles connected with Zach Ely for a 17 yard touchdown and Tanner Hubbard kicked the PAT

Madison's Hawkes Takes 1st Place at State Cross Country

The Madison Girls Cross Country team took 2nd place at the State Cross Country Meet, Saturday in Huron. As a team Madison finished with 58 total points, St. Thomas More took first place with a score of 53. The team title was St. Thomas More’s first girls Cross Country Championship.
