Bulldog Boys Try to Start New Winning Streak

The Madison Boys Basketball team is looking to rebound from a loss for the first time since 2013. The Bulldogs lost 57-54 to Tri-Valley on Tuesday night, snapping the programs 38 game winning streak.

Madison Wrestlers 2-0 in Dak XII Triangular

The Madison Bulldog wrestlers went 2-0 on Tuesday in a Triangular with a pair of Dakota XII schools. Madison picked up  wins over Lennox 49-29, and Tea 77-6.
Nine wrestlers went 2-0 for the Bulldogs; Colby Mennis, Bailey Mennis, Jarred Hodges, Noah Guse, Kaiden Dorris, Tyler Guthmiller, Cole Leighton, Nate Guthmiller, and Braxton Steffen.

Lady Bulldogs Fall to 0-2

Madison Lady Bulldogs Basketball fell to 0-2 last night against the Tri Valley Lady Mustangs, in a 44-37 loss. Madison’s Rozalind VandenBosch had the team leading 9 points, Danielle Roeman had 6 points and Emma Marsh had 5 points. Madison trailed 9-7 after the 1st quarter, 21-19 at half.

The Chester Basketball teams swept both game of double header  Tuesday night in Howard.The Lady Flyers took the first game 49-46.

DSU's Woods Named NAIA All-American

 MADISON, S.D. (AP) - Dakota State University offensive lineman Zac Woods has been named to the NAIA Coaches' All-America Team.

The American Football Coaches Association announced the honor on Tuesday.
Woods is a 6-foot-4, 302-pound lineman from Cherokee, Iowa. The senior helped the Trojans compile a school team record of 4,313 offensive yards last season.

Madison Wrestlers Place 3rd on Saturday

Madison placed 3rd in the Watertown Dual tournament last Saturday.  The Bulldogs went 3-1, losing to Watertown 49-21, then defeating Dell Rapids 70-6 and Sisseton 60-12. Madison then wrestled Harrisburg for 3rd place, and picked up the 49-24 win.
Head Coach Chris Waba said his team wrestled with good intensity throughout the day.

The Madison Bulldogs boys’ basketball team continued were they left off last March, beating the Elk Point Jefferson Huskies 83-48 on Saturday. The Bulldogs didn’t start off hot in the 1st quarter. The Madison Lady Bulldogs may not have gotten off to the start that they wanted against the Lady Huskies of Elk Point Jefferson Saturday, but it was still a great game for the girls in a 51-42 loss.  Junior Emma Marsh led the team with 11 points coming off the bench. Senior Danielle Roemen had 9 points and senior Maddie Nipe and freshmen Nicole Brown had 8 points.
