Bulldogs host Chamberlain in Madison Square Garden Night tonight

Madison, SD -- It’s a busy weekend for the Madison wrestling team. The Bulldogs host Harrisburg and Chamberlain tonight in a Triangular and then compete at the Kingsbury County Invitational Saturday.

Madison is coming off a strong finish last weekend, when it placed third at the Harrisburg Invitational. Twelve wrestlers from Madison placed in the tournament, which head coach Chris Waba says is an improvement over last year.

The Bulldogs were to have faced Harrisburg in tonight’s annual “Madison Square Garden” night. But with the Tigers’ roster depleted due to injury, the Bulldogs will now face Chamberlain in the marquee match while facing the Tigers earlier in the evening. Waba says not much is known about the Cubs.

Following tonight’s duals, the Bulldogs travel to Arlington tomorrow for the Kingsbury County Invitational. Waba says a lot of quality teams will be there, including Brookings, Groton and Kingsbury County. He says it’ll be an endurance test for Madison.

Madison will face Harrisburg at 5:30 at the Middle School Gym, followed by the Tigers and Chamberlain at about 6:30. The Bulldogs will then face the Cubs at about 7:30. All J-V matches will take place in the Madison Wrestling Room.
