SD Lottery turns 25

This month marks the 25th anniversary of the South Dakota Lottery.  Kelly Thompson, Director of Advertising and Public Relations for the South Dakota Lottery, says it all started with scratch tickets.

Thompson says they are marking the occasion by doing things to benefit lottery players and the retailers that sell the tickets.

A few area retailers who have sold lottery tickets at their business since it started include:  Chuck’s Grocery in Lake Preston, the General Store in DeSmet, and the Brookings Municipal Liquor Store in Brookings.
Thompson says the deadline for people to enter to win the South Dakota Lottery’s 25th Anniversary prizes is coming up on September 20th.

More information on the lottery’s 25th Anniversary can be found online.
