Prairie Village Jamboree kicks into full swing

It’s day two of the four-day 50th Anniversary Prairie Village Steam Threshing Jamboree and that means plenty of activities going on at the village, just west of Madison.  There’s a John Deere parade at 11:00 this morning, followed by a sawmill demonstration at 11:30.  The steam and horse threshing, corn shelling and machinery demonstrations start at noon, there’s a machinery parade at 2:30, and then a stock, classic and open tractor pull at 3:30 this afternoon.  Free entertainment in the Lawrence Welk Opera House tonight will feature the Harmonikatz, the Don Stewart family, and Dave Sueltz “The Singing Farmer”.
A free shuttle bus is available from 9:00 - 5:00 today, Saturday, and Sunday.  The bus will leave from the Gehl parking lot on South Highland Avenue in Madison.  Two buses will run continuously during this timeframe today, four will run on Saturday, and three on Sunday.
A complete listing of today’s events, along with the remainder of the weekend, you can go to Prairie Village’s website at www.prairievillage.org.
