County hears wage study information

Lake County commissioners heard a report on a wage and salary study that was done by the First District of Local Governments during their regular meeting this week.  Todd Kays – executive director for First District – told commissioners where Lake County stands as far as what it pays its employees.

Kays did comparisons with other counties within First District, as well as other counties of similar size to Lake County, in putting together his information for commissioners.
After discussing some of the information in open session during Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners then met with Kays in executive session to discuss more specific information about the study.  After that, commissioners asked that Auditor Bobbi Janke contact the county’s department heads with their departments’ wage salary comparison information and then set up a meeting with Kays and the department heads to review the information.
