Madison Chamber awards educators during annual reception

A local educator and a local business were honored last night at the annual Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce’s Educators Reception in Madison.  The 2012 Outstanding Educator award went to Tammy Osterberg.  Osterberg recently retired after teaching Kindergarten at Madison Elementary for many years.  Osterberg was nominated by her co-workers and parents of some of her students.
The 2012 Outstanding Friend of Education Award went to the Madison Community Hospital.  The hospital was nominated by Madison High School and Dakota State University educators and program coordinators for its contributions to the growth and career preparation of high school and college students.  The staff was recognized for providing educational programs, wellness and support groups for the community, providing professional practices, internships, clinical experiences, and hands-on reinforcement of classroom instruction in health care careers.
