Flooding Mitigation Subcommittee meeting Thursday
The flooding mitigation subcommittee of the Local Emergency Planning Committee will meet for the first time Thursday morning. The committee consists of 10 members – Madison City Engineer Chad Comes, Fire Chief Randy Minnaert, Public Works Director Fred Snoderly, along with Lake County Environmental Specialist John Maursetter, Zoning Director Deb Reinicke, Commissioner Kelli Wollmann, and Emergency Management Director Don Thomson. Also on the subcommittee are Kory Reck of the Wentworth Fire Department, Jeff Wieman of Manitou-Gehl, and Ron Jorgensen with Emergency Medical Services.
The subcommittee’s agenda includes the selection of a chairperson, the establishment of goals and objectives, a timeline, and discussion of the May 5th flooding event and the Banner 1995 study and cost to update. The group will also discuss the Silver Jacket program and discuss grants and funding opportunities.
