Republicans name District 8 House candidate replacement

Republicans in District 8 have chosen a candidate to fill their House slot on the November ballot.  Gene Kroger of Madison will take the spot on the ballot that was vacated last week by Patricia Stricherz of Winfred.  Kroger joins Leslie Heinemann of Flandreau as the two Republicans running for the two seats available in the State House for District 8, along with Democrats Scott Parsley and Roy Lindsay, both of Madison.
Today (Tuesday) is the deadline for parties to fill vacancies on the November ballot left by candidates who have withdrawn from the race.
District 8 includes Lake, Miner, Moody, and Sanborn counties.
