LAIC to lead downtown revitalization task force

The Madison City Commission is accepting an offer from the Lake Area Improvement Corporation to lead a downtown revitalization task force.  In a letter to commissioners, LAIC Executive Director Julie Gross said that the LAIC Board feels confident it can lead the task force, especially since one of the goals of its Forward Madison-2 initiative is focused on retail development and marketing.  At last evening’s commission meeting, Gross said she has not formed the task force yet, but is working with some individuals to put something together and plans to report back to the commission on its progress.
Commissioner Dick Ericsson said he thinks it is a good idea.

Commissioner Mike Waldner agreed.

Commissioners last evening acknowledged the LAIC’s letter and accepted their offer to lead the downtown revitalization task force.
