Activity around the Lake County 4-H grounds in Madison is picking up as local 4-H members get their exhibits and livestock ready for judging at this year’s Achievement Days.
Lake County 4-H Youth Program Advisor Mandy Stade said the activities get started later today with a kick-off pizza social from 5:00 until 8:00, and then a dance from 8:00 until 10:00 tonight, which is a new activity this year. Friday the exhibits will be open to the public, and several different animal shows will be held.
Stade said that the Fashion Revue will be held at 5:00 Friday, followed by a demonstration by the new 4-H Robotics team. The beef and baby beef show will be held at 6:00, and a new event – a talent show – will be held at 6:45 on Friday evening, followed by the Ag Olympics. Stade said Saturday starts with the swine show at 7:30 a.m., and the inflatables will be available again from 8:00 until 4:00, with several other activities going on throughout the day on Saturday.
This is Stade’s first Achievement Days as Lake County’s 4-H Youth Advisor and she said she is anxious for the weekend’s events.
All shows and events at the Lake County 4-H Achievement Days are held at the grounds on South Egan Avenue, and all are open to the public.
