KJAM hosted its first Texaco Country Showdown on Friday night at Library Park in Madison.  Ten contestants competed, with Kaila Tingle of Aurora winning the event with her rendition of Martina McBride’s song “Concrete Angels”.  First runner-up in Friday night’s event was Taylor Bird of Arlington. 
Tingle now moves on to compete in the state competition in North Dakota.
