The Democratic candidate for South Dakota’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives is making his way around the state campaigning for the November election, where he faces Republican incumbent Representative Kristi Noem.
Matt Varilek made stops in Madison this week and says that he is hearing from residents throughout the state about their frustration with the lack of progress in Congress on a variety of issues, including the Farm Bill.
Varilek says if he’s elected he will have his work cut out for him with the way Congress has been operating most recently.
Varilek has visited several area communities this week and says he will continue to do so in order to get voters to know him and what he stands for before they go to vote in the November election.
