United Way in need of local projects for Day of Caring
The Interlakes Area United Way is taking part in a new opportunity this year involving incoming freshmen students at Dakota State University in Madison. It’s being called a “Day of Caring” and will include pairing up the new students during their orientation day with volunteer projects in the area. Lois Niedert with the Interlakes Area United Way says they are in need of projects for the students to do.
Niedert said the students will be ready to help with the projects when they are on-campus in August.
Niedert said this is the first year that the United Way is doing this Day of Caring project, so would like any non-profit organizations who are in need of help from the DSU students to complete an application by July 27th. As Niedert mentioned, the application can be found on the Interlakes Area United Way’s website - just follow the link here.
