Madison Chamber and LAIC present budget requests to city

The Madison Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Area Improvement Corporation both proposed their 2013 budget requests to Madison City Commissioners last evening.
Madison Chamber Interim Director Michelle Ust appeared before the commission, along with Chamber Board president Donna Uthe and incoming executive director Rosie Jamison.  Ust told commissioners that the Chamber is requesting the same amount in its 2013 budget as it did in 2012 – which is 69-thousand dollars.
Lake Area Improvement Corporation Executive Director Julie Gross presented the LAIC’s budget request for 2013.  Gross, along with board members Floyd Rummel and David Borofsky, presented a budget request of 140-thousand dollars for the LAIC’s general budget and 120-thousand dollars for the Forward Madison-2 campaign.  Gross, who just took over the LAIC executive director position this summer, said that she is planning to keep the lines of communication open and plans to meet quarterly with commissioners to keep them and the public updated on what the LAIC is working on.
