Lake County property owners will soon be receiving their assessment notices.  Lake County Equalization Director Shirley Ebsen told Lake county commissioners during their regular meeting Tuesday that assessment notices should be sent out by March 1st.  She said that there were a few changes and the Equalization office will be ready to answer any questions property owners may have after receiving their notices.



Ebsen said that the county will meet with town and township officials on March 13th in preparation for any appeals that they may receive.  The deadline for property owners to appeal their assessment to their local board will be March 15th, with local boards hearing those appeals during the week of March 19th.  Ebsen told the commissioners that appeals then that they may need to hear will come before them in April, with the entire appeals process scheduled to be completed by May 4th.
